SMMT Lab was made for bringing worlds together. Introducing the newest Lab release created in partnership with XTRATUF and XTRATUF’s illustrator Tyler Poyant. Built to work hard in the most unforgiving environments.

Inspired by the idea of ‘From Alaska to the Atlantic,’ this project brings together SMMT’s mountain-utility drinkware, XTRATUF’s marine workwear heritage, and Poyant’s iconic illustration style. Available for only 30 days, and then, only in the wild.

An original: Tyler Poyant
Born to the coast, Tyler Poyant is an illustrator and designer based in Salem, Massachusetts. His body of work spans across mediums. Growing up on Cape Cod, he has always been inspired by the ocean and a coastal lifestyle around him. While his work is varied, it’s the continual build of work for XTRATUF that connects him to the project.

The Commercial Fishing + Ski Town Connection
Over the years, XTRATUF boots have become a go-to staple for ski-town locals. Legend has it, skiers and riders returning from Alaska-winter adventures brought the commercial fishing boots back to their home ski-towns and a movement began. Up north, from Haines to Valdez, rugged, waterproof gear is everything. For over 75 years commercial fishers have relied on XTRATUF.
